ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS DONATE $100,000 TO HUMAN SERVICES CAMPUS FOR COVID-19 FUNDING RELIEF
PHOENIX, Ariz. (July 6, 2020): Human Services Campus, Inc. (HSC) has received $100,000 from the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation for COVID-19 relief funding.
“These critical funds enable the Human Services Campus to adapt our client services because of the COVID-19 pandemic at a time when individuals experiencing homelessness are among the most vulnerable,” said HSC Executive Director Amy Schwabenlender. “Those who are experiencing homelessness have no homes to shelter from both the weather and the pandemic. The Diamondbacks have been among our most consistent and generous supporters over the past 15 years and these funds are particularly important in these unprecedented times.”
The funding is being used to purchase personal protective equipment (PPEs) for HSC and other partner organizations’ staff, increased cleaning supplies and services, expanded staffing and security and heat relief, among other needs.
The campus is operating under strict health and safety protocols established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is adhering to required guidelines with county health officials, Schwabenlender said.
“I’m so proud of our partnership with the Human Services Campus as we collectively address both the challenges of homelessness and the impact of the pandemic that has dramatically altered our community,” said D-backs President & CEO Derrick Hall. “Individuals experiencing homelessness are at even greater risk and the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation is proud to provide this funding during these challenging times.”
